Global Asset Manger Expands Its Australia Team With A Senior Hire

, the global asset management firm, has expanded its Australia team with a a senior hire. Mark Carlile joins the company as head of Australia strategic relationships for the funds business. Based in Melbourne, he reports to David Halifax, head of Australia funds, and brings over 20 years of experience to the role. He was previously a national manager for key accounts research and platform at Vanguard Investments, and also worked for Goldman Sachs JBWere and ANZ. Also newly appointed is Katie Babatsikos as business manager for the division. Babatsikos previously held a similar role with Perpetual Investments. The hires complement JP Morgan AM's expansion strategy in the region, it said in a statement. Just recently, the company named Stephen Alcorn as head of institutional in Australia. JPMAM is part of JP Morgan Chase. As at 31 March 2014, its Asia-Pacific client assets have reached $133.5 billion, while its fund managed in the area has reached $84.6 billion. It has eight offices in Asia-Pacific, with Hong Kong as its regional headquarters.
